Through our efforts with the Department of State Health Services to increase coordination among agencies on food safety, TDA has become aware that DSHS is contacting some GO TEXAN food members to advise them of the need for all food processors to have a food manufacturing license with the state, even if a company processes its product at a commercial kitchen or with a co-packer. This requirement is intended to help keep Texas food safe.

If you do not currently hold a food manufacturing license with the state, please be aware a representative with DSHS may contact you to provide the necessary licensing information. Please respond promptly to these notices, as DSHS regulations have penalties associated with non-compliance.
