2008 State Fair Quilt: Toast a Rising Star

 state fair header

The theme for the 2008 competition, "Toast a Rising Star," highlighted the state's burgeoning wine and grape-growing industry. The quilt focused on all elements of Texas wine, from the legendary history of wine in our state to the ideally suited grape-growing regions. This quilt was proudly designed and constructed by Terri Vogds and quilted by Johanna Iaia, both of Denton.  Our 2008 quilt sponsors included: Hobbs Bonded Fibers of Waco, Joy's Fabrics & Quilts in Godley, P&B Textiles of Dallas, Tandy Leather Factory in Fort Worth, and the Texas Sheep and Goat Raisers' Association.
